One of the biggest surprises during the NBA trade season was the move that sent Tyrese Haliburton from the Sacramento Kings to the Indiana Pacers. Expectations for Haliburton’s potential are sky-high, and the Pacers now have a loaded backcourt along with fellow former King, Buddy Hield, Malcolm Brogdon and rookie Chris Duarte. Prior to the move, Haliburton averaged 11.7 points and 11.3 assists over his last three starts, but he’s had 11 games this season in which he’s scored at least 20 points.
The Pacers take on Cleveland tonight, but is Haliburton a smart inclusion for NBA DFS lineups on sites like DraftKings or FanDuel in his debut for Indiana? In his last start against Cleveland on January 10, he scored 21 points with eight assists. Before you finalize your NBA DFS picks for Friday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

On Thursday, McClure included Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Doncic scored a season-high 51 points to go with nine rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block to return 75.25 points on DraftKings and 69.8 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.
Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Friday, February 11, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.
Top NBA DFS picks for Friday, February 11
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Friday is Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball, who is listed at $9,000 on DraftKings and $8,400 on FanDuel. In two of Ball’s last five starts, he has gone over 30 points, and he has also had two games in which he’s dished out nine assists during that run. In his last start against Chicago on Wednesday, he scored 33 points with nine rebounds and five assists.
The Hornets are back in action tonight against Detroit on Friday, which should be another favorable matchup for Ball, even though he had a somewhat pedestrian performance against it in their previous meeting this season. In that game, he hit just three of the nine three-point shots he took, but over his last five starts, he has shot 40 percent from downtown. Over Detroit’s last three games, it has allowed opponents to hit 49 percent of their threes, which is the highest rate in the league over that sample.
Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Spurs swingman Devin Vassell ($4,000 on DraftKings and $4,900 on FanDuel). The Spurs completed one of the more under-the-radar deadline deals when they shipped starting shooting guard Derrick White to the Boston Celtics for Josh Richardson and Romeo Langford. Neither one is ready to step in for White, meaning Vassell is expected to have a big opportunity in the starting lineup tonight against the Atlanta Hawks.
Vassell has started eight times this season, and has averaged 12 points and five rebounds in those games. In his only other game against the Hawks this season, Vassell picked up a quad injury that kept him out of action for the next two games. He’ll be looking to make up for it on Friday, following an 18-point showing against Cleveland on Wednesday.
