Midland County GOPThe Midland County Republican Party precinct and county convention was held on March 26 at Ranchland Hills Golf Club.
The approximately 63 in attendance enjoyed breakfast, served by Ranchland Hills, and one of the precinct chairs even brought donuts in true Republican convention fashion.
One resolution passed and will be sent to the state party and one resolution failed. The Midland County Republican Party also elected 54 delegates and one alternate to attend the State Convention in Houston in June.
Midland County is allowed 66 delegates and 66 alternates to the state convention based on
strong voter turnout. There will be full delegation vote during the state convention, GOP officials said.
Former speaker of the Texas House (and current state representative) Tom Craddick spoke to the crowd regarding redistricting and provided local Republicans with a map to help clarify some of the new lines drawn.
“It was a great day to be a Republican in Midland County!” Midland County Republican Party Chairman Sherri Merket wrote.
