The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting outside a liquor store in the Arden-Arcade area on Monday.One man died after a shooting that was reported outside the Marconi Food Mart on Marconi Avenue west of Fulton Avenue at about 9:12 a.m. Deputies who arrived found a man who was shot at least once on his upper body, the sheriff’s office said. Fire personnel arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. Crime scene tape cordoned off the parking lot near a liquor store, a Little Caesars restaurant and other businesses. At least one bullet casing was visible, along with evidence markers dotting one area near bags, shopping carts and a bicycle.There are some people who are homeless and camp in the area, but the sheriff’s office did not state whether the victim was unhoused. That was a question one woman who lives nearby had when she saw the scene while walking to the post office in the afternoon.”I was immediately concerned, like, has something gone on with them?” Barbara Bergmann wondered.A witness told KCRA that he heard two men, who he believed were homeless, arguing and then he heard the shooting. The victim’s identity will be released following notification of next of kin.
