Fred Inganamort Obituary (1952 – 2022) – Midland Park, NJ – Legacy.com

Fred William Inganamort passed away on January 5th at the age of 69 in his Florida residence. While Fred was a long-time resident of Bergen County, NJ, he spent the last 15 years of his life primarily in Florida.

Fred was born in Hackensack, grew up in Dumont, and moved to Ho-Ho-Kus just before graduating from high school.

Fred was a passionate man and had many hobbies and interests over his life time. Fred was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying for pleasure. He also at one time owned two motorcycles named, “The Blonde” and “The Brunette”. He was an avid, life-long hunter and outdoors enthusiast. Over his life, he took many hunting trips including to British Columbia, The North West Territories, New Mexico, Alaska, Quebec, Montana and Texas.

Fred was also a gun aficionado and would share his knowledge of firearms with many who shared his interest. Over the last decade, Fred discovered Cowboy Action Shooting. He was an active member of the Gold Coast Gunslingers, Okeechobee Marshals and the OK Corral Outlaws, all in Florida. He was known for being a great shot, very enthusiastic, and always willing to give a helping hand.

Fred was a prominent builder and contractor throughout NJ and CO, building many beautiful single-family homes. He also spent time working at the Department of Design and Construction in New York City.

He had a wonderful sense of humor and was an enthralling story teller. His smile would light up a room. He will be forever known for his quick wit and unmistakable laugh.

For a man with a short name, Fred was known by many nicknames of over the course of his life including, “Freddie” by his beloved Mother, “Dad” and “Bub” by his daughters, “Kid Harrison” by his CAS buddies, “Uncle Fred” by his many nieces and nephews and most recently, “Gramps” or “Grizzly Gramps” by his grandchildren.

Fred is predeceased by his father, Michael “Babe” Inganamort. He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Inganamort, brother and sister-in-law, Michael Jr. and Sandra Inganamort, daughters, Cecilia (Eddie) Rivera and Kristen (Joseph) Milano, four grandchildren, Hunter Rivera, Rocco Rivera, Victoria Milano and Samantha Milano, many nieces and nephews and beloved friends.

Friends and family may visit at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Gabriel’s RC Church, 88 East Saddle River Rd., Saddle River, NJ. Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus, NJ. Additionally, Fred will receive 3 separate Rolling Thunder gun salutes in Florida starting in February. Please contact individual CAS groups for exact time and place.
