    Vaishno Devi stampede: 15 injured brought to hospital, 4 in ICU, says doctor

    Following the stampede at Vaishno Devi shrine, 15 injured people were brought to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital. Of the injured, four were admitted to the ICU, reports ANI citing Dr JP Singh, a neurosurgeon at the hospital.  

    “11 people were stable, out of which three to four people were discharged after first aid. Around five are still under treatment,” he said.

    With 22,775 new Covid-19 cases, the total caseload reached 3,48,61,579. Also, 406 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. Active caseload went past the 100,000-mark again and stood at 104,781. 

    The Omicron tally stood at 1,431, according to the latest data from the health ministry.

    Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha announced an ex-gratia of Rs10 lakh each to the families of those who lost their lives after the stampede at Vaishno Devi. He also said ₹2 lakh would be given to the injured. Shrine board will bear the cost of the treatment of injured, he added.

    12 dead, 13 injured in stampede at Vaishno Devi: J&K Police 

    As many as 12 people died and 13 others were injured in the stampede at Vaishno Devi shrine, reports ANI citing Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbagh Singh. 

    “The incident occurred around 2.45 am, and as per initial reports, an argument broke out which resulted in people pushing each other, followed by stampede,” he said.

    PM Modi announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each to the families of those who lost their lives at the stampede at Vaishno Devi shrine. Also, ₹50,000 would be given to those injured, he said. The amount would be given from the PMNRF.

Commercial LPG cylinder prices slashed by ₹102.50

The 19 kg commercial cylinder will cost ₹1998.50 in Delhi from today. It will provide some relief to restaurants, eateries and tea stalls etc which constitute the largest user segment of the 19 kg cylinder.

22,775 new Covid-19 cases recorded in India, active caseload above 100,000

India’s Omicron tally crosses 1,400-mark, 5 states have more than 100 cases
