Despite Mama Gwen’s wishes, Jovi and Yara plan to leave New Orleans, and Jovi recently revealed the top four states where they might want to relocate.
Travel enthusiasts and 90 Day Fiancé franchise cast members Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya are looking to set down roots somewhere with their daughter Mylah, and after months of searching, Jovi recently revealed the top locations the couple is thinking of calling home. Though Jovi’s family in Louisiana may not love the idea of him moving away, Jovi and Yara are ready and eager to spread their wings and settle down someplace new.
Even in the early episodes of 90 Day Fiancé season 8, Yara was itching to move away from New Orleans, where she and Jovi lived when she first came to the states. However, Jovi has close ties to friends and family in Louisiana, and his mother Gwen especially isn’t keen on the idea of her son leaving home. During Hurricane Ida, the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? stars had to evacuate their home, and Jovi and Yara went to Dallas, Texas, with their daughter Mylah to wait out the storm. Since then, the couple has been traveling the country as a family and they have been considering making a permanent move to a new state.
Yara and Jovi have been enjoying traveling, but now they’re thinking long-term, and in an Instagram Q&A, Jovi revealed that he and Yara have narrowed their relocation options down to four. When a fan asked for Jovi’s top five places he’d like to move to, the franchise star replied, “Florida, Texas are the main 2. Others we have considered/talked about are Tennessee, Arizona, and really that’s it.” The couple has apparently ruled out Chicago because it was “too cold,” but Jovi also commented that he and Yara still want to travel to a few more states before making their final decision.
Figuring out where to set down roots is a difficult choice to make, and Jovi in particular is likely getting pressure from his family to not leave Louisiana. But Yara has never been happy there, and it turns out Mylah has set her sights on another city as well. Another fan asked Jovi about his favorite family vacation spot, and he revealed it was Miami, Florida, hands down. “For some reason every time we take Mylah to Miami she is so well behaved and just loving life there,” Jovi said, adding that it was the beaches and pools that Mylah probably likes best. If Mylah really is so enamored with Miami, that’s strong incentive for Jovi and Yara to put Florida at the top of their list.
Jovi and Yara have always loved to travel extensively, but now that they have a child, it’s time for them to think about settling down. From Jovi’s comments, it seems the 90 Day Fiancé franchise couple are taking the task very seriously and want to make sure they travel to each of the places they’re thinking of moving to and really get a feel for the city. With Mylah growing older, she’ll be starting school before Jovi and Yara know it, and the clock is ticking for them to find a new home that all of them love.
